Dr. Justin Braun
Dr. Braun received his doctorate in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University (OSU) in 2018. He completed his clinical internship at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. Dr. Braun has specialized training and experience in the delivery of several different modalities of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), the unified protocol (UP) for emotional disorders, cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and exposure-based approaches to address anxiety. In addition, he has specialized training and experience delivering interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) for depression.
At ABHS, Dr. Braun provides cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive conditions under the supervision of Dr. McCreary (as Dr. Braun accrues hours towards independent licensure). His approach begins with a comprehensive assessment to gain an understanding of each client’s specific needs, problem areas, and strengths to better tailor treatment for each individual. Dr. Braun focuses on helping clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions and guiding them in specific therapeutic strategies and skills to make progress towards treatment goals. Dr. Braun also incorporates mindfulness and acceptance-based practices into therapy to help clients live a value-driven life.
